Governor Pence Honors Cummins for Safety Excellence During Ceremony at Cummins Seymour Engine Plant

Employees from Seymour Enginge Plant receive the Indiana (USA)Governor’s Workplace Safety Award Presented to them by Governor Mike Pence.

Recently, Indiana Governor Mike Pence visited our engine plant in Seymour, IN. While visiting, Pence presented the plant with the Governors Workplace Safety Award for their excellence in creating a safe workplace environment.

“The State of Indiana appreciates and recognizes businesses that make workplace health and safety a priority,” said Pence. “We know that showcasing excellence in safety and health is critical to reinforcing the safety culture at the workplace. “

The annual Governor’s Workplace Safety Award provides recognition for companies based on best practices for eliminating workplace injuries and illnesses. The award recognizes those organizations for which safety and health have been made a top priority.

“We are pleased to receive a Governor’s Workplace Safety Award and to have the governor and commissioner visit the Cummins Seymour Engine Plant,” said Marya Rose, Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, Cummins Inc. “This award recognizes the tremendous work of our Seymour Engine Plant employees and it is also a reflection of Cummins’ focus on health and safety improvement across the entire enterprise. We are grateful the governor and commissioner are emphasizing the importance of health and safety in the workplace.”
