According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 9 people are killed each day in the United States, and more than 1,153 people are injured in accidents that are reported to involve a distracted driver. It’s no surprise that in the digital information age, 69 percent of drivers in the U.S. between the ages of 18-64 admit to having used their cell phone while driving. In Europe, this percentage ranged from 21 percent in the UK to 59 percent in Portugal (source).
Cummins is dedicated to doing its part to help reduce those numbers.
The Road and Safety Expo will feature activities and demonstrations geared towards educating the community on how to be a safe driver. The Road and Safety Expo is free to attend and will take place near the Hotel Indigo in Columbus. A complete list of participants and activities can be accessed here.
